Target Darts hits the mark with 2024 World ParaDarts Masters and World Championship sponsorship


Tuesday 27th August, 2024: On the eve of the Paralympic Games, leading darts manufacturer Target Darts is thrilled to announce its sponsorship as the Official Darts Partner of the upcoming 2024 World ParaDarts Masters and World Championships.
 
This partnership marks a significant milestone in Target's commitment to inclusivity and the promotion of darts as a sport for everyone, regardless of physical abilities.
 
The World ParaDarts Masters and World Championships 2024 is set to take place between 3rd-5th January 2025 in Chelmsford, Essex. The list of qualifying players will be revealed on
1st September. The events will see the top 64 ParaDarts players from around the globe, display a captivating level of outstanding skill and competitive prowess.
 
As part of the sponsorship, Target will contribute a financial sponsorship fee to support the event's organisational efforts, provide state-of-the-art darting equipment, and offer creative materials for World ParaDarts to display across the website, social media, and at the event.

Our Chair Sarah Smale is the World Darts Federation ParaDarts Delegate:

 The WDF appoints special officers and delegates who's responsibilities are as follows: - 

 (1) To offer assistance and advice to the WDF Executive on matters pertaining to their area of competence.

(2) To submit reports and recommendations to the WDF Executive and the General Meeting on matters pertaining to their area of competence.

(3) To develop guidelines for WDF on matters pertaining to their area of competence.

The World ParaDarts is an organisation formed to enable, support and promote disabled darts through-out the world.

The World ParaDarts is a non-political, non-racial and non-profit making organisation dedicated toward achieving and maintaining the highest possible standard of presentation and organisation, around the world. 

World ParaDarts is an associate member of the World Darts Federation and is the only Disability Darts organisation recognised by them.

As a world-wide organisation of darts bodies, the World ParaDarts encourages the promotion of the Sport of Darts, and disability darts among and between those bodies, in an effort to gain international recognition for Darts as a major Sport and the full inclusion of disability darts.

World ParaDarts is moving forward to get International Paralympic Committee recognition.
 
How we will do this:

1. The World ParaDarts will allow member organisations to join in with the decision making, with a democratic process with each member organisation having a representative at general meetings.
2. We will embrace the International Paralympic Committee’s Classification System for all our Tournaments.
3. We will support all organisations who provide and are considering providing disability darts (even if they are not using the International Paralympic Committee’s Classification System)
4. The World ParaDarts will proactively promote Disability Darts and work to ensure disability darts is included throughout the darting community.
5. We will be proactively looking to work with the World Darts Federation in the future to promoting/developing disability darts.
6. We will work with the International Paralympic Committee on the development of our own sports related Classification System within the IPC’s system.
7. We will provide a “World ParaDarts Grand Slam” of Darts Tournaments on an International basis.

Membership is open to any organisation from any country (local, regional or National) who also enables, supports and promotes disability darts.
